Cool Win7 Tips

Tip:

================================

Having various issues with MS, eg Xp Win7?

Just go to:
Start>Run> (type in) SFC /scannow

This will examine your OS files and repair the bad/corrupted files. For XP you need the OS disk, Win7 you don't. Then MS auto update will update a couple files.

iTunes 9.1.1.1 and Win 7 6.1.7600, Build 7600

iTunes seems to have lousy code, it freezes, locks up with in 2 min of playing a song (no BSOD). It functions with syncing the iPhone, with occsional spits and sputters but it just won't play music. Surely iTunes 10, has to be better...more current and a better contribution. No big deal, there are plenty of other music players out there.

IE8 Survival:

If you get this annoying message...esp XP Vista
"Do you want to view only the web page content that was delivered securely?"

Go to to fix(Similar to IE7 Fix below):

~My Digital Life~ Link

Web pages with secure and nonsecure items:
Are you getting Popups about Web pages in Internet Explorer 7. Annoying isn't it ...

"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"

Often secure pages have links to nonsecure stuff, like images.
To turn off the error message:
Go to Tools,
select Internet Options,
go to the Security tab.
Click Custom Level,
scroll down to Miscellaneous,
and find button for "Display mixed content".
It is set to Prompt.
If you change it to Enable, nonsecure content will always be displayed.
(If you change it to Disable, nonsecure content cannot be displayed.)

Downloading Images from an Outlook Email:

Three easy workarounds to this problem:

Option a: You can copy the image to the clipboard and paste it into a photo editing tool like Paint or Photoshop.

Option b: Open the email message and save it as an HTML file (File -> Save As -> Web page) – this will save all the embedded pictures in one folder. It’s the same trick that’s often used to extract pictures from PowerPoint slide-shows and is recommended when you want to download multiple images from the same message.

Option c: This is my favorite. Open the e-mail message and under the Message tab, select Other Actions -> View in Browser. This would open your mail inside the default web browser as a regular HTML web page and you can right-click to save an embedded picture.(as a gif)

Option c probably works with Office 2007 only so if you are using an earlier version of Outlook, please use the #b option.

Option d: go directly to  hotmail, google, gmail and save as jpg
(not embedded)

Can you say 4G ?:

I love this font ...It reminds me of Mad MAgazine ....
(hope your screen reads "Baveuse" font)

So WHEN IS 4G (Long-Term Evolution -LTE wireless broadband) Technology coming to wireless?
4G networks should be here in USA by 2010.
Although ATT has the Iphone today, ATT is slower to respond than Verizon to 4G LTE technology, after all they have a lot of 3G subscribers under long contract.
And WHEN IS the
Iphone 4G coming out (for 4G LTE)... June 2010
maybe... based on history... OK we got 3G S released in June 2009 with Software version 3.0.  When the ATT Contract with Apple expires in 2010, who knows , maybe we can even get that Iphone 4G on Verizon.
And what happens to all the ATT 4G Iphones with a longer contract?...Hmmm Verizon indeed.

Have your current Verizon phone number "Ported" to whatever company has the best Iphone Plan in 2010 (don't quit current vendor service off before sucessfully porting!).  In fact you can port your Land Line to Wireless and Vicy-Versy.
A new 4g would be cool. I did get the iPhone 3G(july 09), Nice. The IRealBook Ap (The Real book on big screen Iphone) is great. Beware of Mobile Me (aka Mobile Mess) Even as of January 2010 it's rude to me. Contacts,Calendar and Email does update between iPhone and Outlook 2007, but can't access them online to Mobile me. I am PC based and use hotmail. Hotmail contacts are not realtime with Outlook, but mutually exclusive....15 hours +later. I give up, and let it maintain as is. I will keep Mobile Me going, can't access it but it is more than 1/2 functional ..but really hope they improve and come to a suitable two way understanding with MS...
Apr 20,2010:
Ok with Win 7 update and Out look 2007 reinstall, mobile me is working almost as advertised...iPhone calendar change still wont show in Outlook till Hard Sync Nice!
I can be positive again!
However...Itunes can't play a song all the way with out hanging, corrupt playlist indeed.....well at least it syncs!
(Be CERTAIN to export(Back up) your iTunes playlists!!..so much for 4 hours of entering song data.)
Since Apple does 30MM in Sales and MS does 60MM can't we some how support each other better?
I was glad to see Protools can accommodate Win7 so quickly. C'mon Apple do your homework.
